when ants invade your home,
don’t decimate their lines with bug spray
when ants crawl on your half-eaten banana in the winter time
anoint them with water and vinegar
give your floors a quick shine
sweep the cabinets and shelves
let the ants make lines
or leave out a piece of lemon-lime
up and down, under countertops they swarm
in black geometry
or peaceful rivers on your kitchen tile.
