the key
the key to not getting a headache is drinking lots of
water. this Summer. for me. don’t leave the window open
overnight, please. the cool air freezes neck muscles
tightening when you wake
bands around the skull
tightening
cold air, not drinking a glass of water
not feeding the squirrels or sitting by the lake
some things you owe yourself
such as:
rice milk over strawberries,
root beer with a salty grill,
the ocean in your ears.
collapse your wound-up limbs on me
let the heat bring out your sweat
and melt, melt, melt.
